Only the newest version (currently 6.x.x) is available in the Mac app store. Pages 6 requires Sierra (macOS 10.12.x).
Pages 4.3 runs well in Mavericks. You may find a copy of the retail box version at Amazon, of from other resellers. There is no difference between the single user and family versions except in the licensing.
The installation is from a DVD. The DVD contains the installer for Pages 4.1 and concurrent versions of Numbers and Keynote. Before using any of the three, you should download and apply the iWork 9.3 updater, available from this page: Apple - Support - Downloads
